What if you could arrive somewhere new and already have a community waiting for you?
Village Nomads brings traveling families together for 10–12 weeks in one walkable neighborhood, with regular playdates, shared adventures, and plenty of time for real friendships to grow.
Our first village is planned for Europe, September–November 2027. We’re looking for founding families to join us!
A village for the road.
TRAVEL TOGETHERGROW TOGETHER
No rigid schedules. No school drop-offs. No pressure to do everything together.
Just families doing life alongside one another.
01 / The idea
It takes a village. So let’s build one.
Good people. Bright places.
Traveling with kids is incredible. But finding community along the way? That can be hard.
You arrive somewhere new. You find the playgrounds, figure out the grocery stores, and start searching for other families.
Maybe you find your people right away. Maybe it takes weeks. Maybe you never quite find them before it’s time to move again.
And when you do find those friendships, leaving becomes the hardest part.
What if we could take some of the guesswork out of finding community?
That’s the idea behind Village Nomads.
A group of families choosing to spend a season in the same place, creating the space for friendships to happen naturally.
Not a vacation package. Not a school. Not an organized tour.
A village.
02 / Life in the village
A little structure. A lot of freedom.
We believe the best friendships happen through ordinary moments together.
A morning at the playground. Coffee while the kids run around. An invitation to dinner. Another family who wants to explore the same little town you do.
Village Nomads simply creates a regular rhythm that brings us together.
MONDAY + WEDNESDAY
Village Gatherings
Two mornings each week, families come together for casual, parent-led activities.
Maybe someone teaches music. Maybe we make pizzas, paint, explore nature, or have a scavenger hunt at the park.
Sometimes the plan might just be bringing a few toys and letting the kids play.
Every family takes a turn hosting, sharing something they enjoy, or arranging a local experience.
And if your child doesn’t want to participate? That’s completely fine.
The activity is just a reason to get together.
FRIDAY
Field Trip Friday
An optional adventure together!
Think local markets, cultural experiences, nearby towns, nature outings, and discovering things we might not have found on our own.
Come along when it works for your family. Skip it when it doesn’t.
EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN
Real life together
The rest of the week is yours.
Work, explore, rest, homeschool, or spend time with your family.
And hopefully, as friendships grow, there will be plenty of spontaneous playdates, dinners, coffees, and invitations along the way.
Play. Explore. Belong. Repeat.
Your own space. Your people nearby.
03 / A place to belong
One neighborhood. Lots of front doors.
We’re not booking everyone into a resort or a shared house.
Instead, we’ll choose a walkable neighborhood where families can find accommodation that works for their own needs and budgets.
Think playgrounds, parks, cafés, markets, and plenty of places to gather.
Your own home. Your own routine. Your own space.
But friends just a short walk away.
We think that’s where some of the best community happens.
04 / Made by all of us
Everyone brings something to the village.
Village Nomads is built around participation, not consumption.
Every family contributes by hosting a few gatherings throughout the season.
And don’t worry — you don’t need to be an expert, teacher, or entertainer.
Love music? Share it.
Know a great game? Organize it.
Found a local artist who could teach us something? Let’s invite them.
Want to plan a playground morning with bubbles and sidewalk chalk? Perfect.
There are no prizes for the most impressive activity.
The goal isn’t to entertain everyone. It’s to make room for connection.
Parents remain present with their children at all gatherings, and families are free to participate in ways that suit their kids.
05 / A little about us
Meet the family behind Village Nomads
Hello, from our family to yours!
Hi! We’re a Canadian family of four who love traveling the world with our two little girls.
We’ve experienced some incredible places together, but one thing we’ve noticed is just how much the people around us shape our experience of a destination.
We’ve found ourselves wanting to stay longer because of the friendships we’ve made. And we’ve had conversations with so many other traveling families who feel the same way.
Right now, we’re spending time in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where a simple twice-weekly family playgroup has become one of the most meaningful parts of our life here.
There’s nothing particularly elaborate about it.
Families meet at a park or play café. The kids play. The parents chat. Sometimes someone brings an activity.
But slowly, those familiar faces become friends. Then come the playdates, dinners, and spontaneous meetups.
And suddenly, a place starts to feel a little more like home.
That’s what inspired Village Nomads.
We wanted to see what would happen if families intentionally chose to create that kind of community together.
And we would love for you to be part of it.
With love, Village Nomads
06 / The first chapter
Help us build the first village!
Europe | September–November 2027
We’re planning our first 10–12 week community for approximately 8–12 traveling families, primarily with children ages 0–7.
We’re currently exploring three possible destinations:
01
Kalamata
Greece
02
Bar
Montenegro
03
Portugal
A destination to be confirmed
We’re looking for families who love to travel, value community, and want to contribute to making the experience special for everyone.
We’re still working out the details, including the final destination and pricing.
That’s where you come in!
If this sounds like something your family would love, join our founding village interest list, tell us where you’d like to go, and help shape our very first season.
There’s no financial commitment at this stage.
Come for the adventure. Stay for the people.
The little details
A few questions you might have
Is this a school or childcare program?+
No. Village Nomads is a family community experience, not a school or childcare service. Parents are always present and remain responsible for their own children.
Do we have to attend every activity?+
Not at all! We encourage families to participate regularly, but understand that travel, work, illness, and family life happen. Hosting your assigned gatherings is part of the commitment.
Do we find our own accommodation?+
Yes. We’ll recommend a neighborhood and help families understand where to look, but each family chooses and books their own accommodation.
Can we join for just a few weeks?+
We’re planning for families to commit to the full 10–12 week season so there’s enough time to build meaningful relationships.
How much does it cost?+
We’re still determining pricing. We anticipate a cohort fee for organizing the experience and a shared activity fund. Accommodation, travel, and most personal expenses will be separate.
What ages are welcome?+
We’re designing Village Nomads primarily around families with children ages 0–7, but we’re open to hearing from other people who would love to be part of this kind of community.
When will applications open?+
We’re currently gathering interest for our first European cohort in fall 2027. Join the list to hear about destinations, pricing, and applications as details are finalized.
